São Paulo are close to announcing their first signing of the 2012 season, having agreed personal terms with Cruzeiro midfielder, Fabrico.

The midfielder’s current contract with the Mineiro club expires on the 31st December and despite being offered a pay rise and a two year extension, the twenty nine year old wanted a deal that would last at least three years.

Fabrico will now finalize a few details in the contract before being officially announced by the Tricolor.

In an interview with Globoesporte, the player revealed it is only a matter of putting pen to paper to seal the deal.

”Despite all the effort made by the Cruzeiro directors, the proposal did not reach the level I wanted,” the twenty nine year old said.

”They offered me two years, and to me that’s not enough. Now my agent will sit down with the São Paulo and sort out the little few missing details. I think by next Tuesday or Wednesday, everything will be sorted.”

He added, ”everything is on track, but nothing has been signed yet.”
