Signed from Manchester United in August 2010, Possebon has never recovered the form he showed at Old Trafford before picking up a serious leg injury in a tackle with Emanuel Pogatetz.
Now, firmly fixed on the fringes of the Santos squad, with more reinforcements likely, Possebon has been told that he is one of three first-team players who should look elsewhere for a club in 2012.
Eder Lima and Leandro Silva have also been given permission to leave the Copa Libertadores winners.
