The 23 years old striker Claudio Mejolaro, called the “Pitbull”, already
involved Monday morning with the champions of Europe in title and should sign
a four year old contract and half. Porto are hoping Claudio Mejolaro will
bolster the weakest attack the club have had in a decade. “This is the kind
of player we need. He’s aggressive up front in the attack to fill that gap,”
Porto trainer Fernandez said of Mejolaro, who is maked 19 goals in last
season for Gremio.
Mejolaro is one of a trio of Brazilian players that Victor Fernandez is
counting on to help Porto in their Champions League title defence. Porto have
already signed Brazilian defender Leandro to fill in for injured Portuguese
international Nuno Valente. Brazilian midfielder Leo Lima joined from
Maritimo, replacing Maniche, who is recovering from surgery.
