Despite the striker flying to Porto Alegre to try and agree a deal with Gremio, Palmeiras’ fierce rivals Corinthians still believe the striker would prefer to sign for them. According to the Timao’s deputy director of football, Duilio Monteiro Alves, Kleber’s agent, Giuseppe Dioguardi had told him he’d like to play for Corinthians.
‘’We haven’t yet entered in to negotiations. We are awaiting his decision on whether he’ll accept Gremio’s proposal. If he decides not to move there, it’s a player that interests Corinthians. We’ve talked to his agent and were told he wants to play here, but we must wait – Alves said.
On Wednesday, Vice President Roberto Frizzo said Kleber can go to the Corinthians, if aa proposal is far superior to the Tricolor Gaucho.
