In October last year, the Libertadores champions offered the twenty two year old a new improved contract that would see the midfielders earnings increase through sponsorship deals.
In an interview with Radio Bandeirantes, Luis Alvardo said, ”unfortunately, their (Ganso’s) attorneys closed the door on the deal. This was unfortunate because Paul Henrique lost out on a lot of money.’’
However the president still believes that the club can reach an agreement with Ganso and will hold talks with his representatives in January next year.
”After the World Club Cup, with calmness and tranquility, I will sit down with him to find a solution that interests him, that makes him happy and that will turn him in to an idol world wide.”
