The Santos coach told the press, ”Today Messi is the best. Theres no need to discuss this. Even Neymar agrees. Even by age, Messi (23 years old) has played more, he has more experience. Neymar (19 years old) is still emerging”
Neymar agreed with the Santos boss saying, ” He (Messi) is the best. With Cristiano Ronaldo close behind. I’m just happy to be amogst the twenty three candidates.”
Neymar is the only nominated player up for the Ballon d’Or trophy who plays his club football outside of Europe. The Ballon d’Or results will take place on January 9th 2012 in Zurich and Neymar is hoping to be amogst the top three.
The Santos ace could also get the chance to lock horns with Messi on the playing field if Santos meet Barcelona in this years FIFA World Club Cup in December.
