A Luis Fabiano goal at the Morumbi was enough for São Paulo to beat Libertad, but now face a tricky away trip to Paraguay to make certain of a Quarter-Final berth.

It was the ex-Sevilla man’s first goal for the club, having only recently returned from a knee injury

For Flamengo it was a night of shame at the Engenhão, conceding four goals – with two more disallowed and having midfielder Aírton dismissed in the fit-half. Universidad de Chile secured a 4-0 win, against a Flamengo side who were desperate to win the Copa this season. The result is the biggest ever win by a Chilean side in Brazil.
