Santino Montillo, the 19-month-old son of the playmaker, has received intestinal surgery this week, already the second time this season that he has suffered a health scare.

It is admirable that on both occasions Montillo senior has pulled on the Cruzeiro shirt and represented his club, but the strain is taking a toll on the recently capped midfielder.

“At this moment I want to leave everything and run away,” said the fan favourite of the ‘Raposa’ or ‘Foxes’.

“The situation is bad, not only on the field, but off it too.

“A lot of things that have come at once, but I do not blame the situation with my son.

“Since last week with my son in hospital, I have to rush everywhere and even missed a penalty!

“I missed the penalty because I struck it badly, that is all.”

Hopefully for Cruzeiro and their relegation battle, the situation will improve for their key man and he will be back on top form in the final crucial weeks.
