The 22-year-old ruptured his thigh muscle against Ghana on September 5th, but now looks set to make a shock come back for Santos, well ahead of schedule.

“The forecast is that I can turn against Flamengo on Sunday,” Ganso told LANCENET!. “I hope everything goes right and I can be on the field, performing well.”

However, for all Ganso and Muricy Ramalho’s optimism, the club’s fitness staff were quick to downplay the chances.

“No way. There is no chance, he hasn’t even started to train with me, said Ricardo Rosa, the club’s fitness coordinator.

LANCENET! also believes that Ganso will be 10 to 14 days before even being allowed to train with the ball and complete his rehabilitation, which should take approximately one month.
