“I had a proposal from Europe recently and was ready to go, now I feel as though I am ready to play for any club,” said the 21-year old keeper.

“But for a goalie, it is hard if you keep changing teams, my target is to stay at Santos for several years and write my name into the club’s history.”

Neymar and Rafael share the strange honour of having played the most games of anyone in Brazil in 2011, with 59 appearances apiece already this season, with many games still to play.

The pair, alongside Paulo Henrique Ganso look set to keep supporters of the ‘Peixe’ happy by staying at the club for their centenary season in 2012.
