Edu Gaspar, the former Arsenal player, has been in talks with Manchester City officials about a potential move, reports Lance!, with Corinthians hopeful a €20 million fee can be negotiated.

The reports quote club president Andrés Sanchez as saying that given Tevez’s behaviour at Manchester City, it is ‘understandable’ that the price should be lowered.

The deal would represent a massively discounted price for the São Paulo club, who offered a staggering €40million for the player only this summer.

The newspaper reports that Tévez will attend a meeting on his future tomorrow, with Corinthians monitoring the outcome from afar, hopeful of repatriating the Argentine superstar.

In other developments, Corinthians are also looking to Cruzeiro’s Argentine attacking midfielder Walter Montillo to provide an inventive spark in their midfield as they look to challenge on all fronts next season.

The midfielder currently plays for Minas Gerais relegation battlers Cruzeiro, with the club owning 80% of the player’s economic rights. Montillo has an active release fee of €20 million which the Timão may have to meet, but they are once more hopeful of negotiating a better price for the player.
