According to an interview with Terra, the defender is delighted to be back at the Palestra Itália and is hoping to stay on at Palmeiras to bring success to the São Paulo club.

I’m happier than the first time I played here. I know it has been complicated and we have bad luck, but I do not regret anything,” said the Barcelona loanee.

“I am very happy and my family is too. We just need to overcome this moment to give joy to the fans as well”

Henrique had briefly represented Palmeiras in 2008, winning the São Paulo State Championships, before a move to Barcelona followed that summer.

His spell at the Camp Nou has been less than succesful though and this is now the third loan spell of the defender, following time with Bayer Leverkusen and Racing Santander.

Since returning to Palmeiras, the defender has managed to score three times in the fourteen appearances he has made. But, it is a desire to win trophies that burns bright with the centre-back.

“We are not in the position we wanted to be, but we are working to improve and to achieve our aim of qualification for the Copa Libertadores. But, we know the importance of national title to Palmeiras.”
