The Flamengo star was the most experienced player on the pitch for Brazil, with a side made up of domestic based players, some of whom were making their international debuts.

He was involved as goals from Lucas Moura and Neymar gave Mano Menezes’ side the victory and allowed them to lift the Superclasico de las Americas trophy.

“It’s wonderful to play with Neymar and Lucas, the young talents,” he said after the game. “I was called here for that, to give support to these young people.”

Ronaldinho was recently recalled to the Brazil squad after showing some sparkling form in the Brasileirão, and now he hopes to play in the London Olympics next year and the 2014 World Cup.

“I go step by step. My dream now is to win the Olympic gold that is missing in my career, and then to do really well in the 2014 World Cup,” he revealed.
