The Brazil international has undergone surgery on his knee injury which he sustained back in May and his post-operation recovery has took longer than initially expected.
After doing only running and light work at a swimming pool in the last few days, the former Sevilla striker was able to return to ball work on Friday.
Luis Fabiano will undergo a test on his injured knee in the next few days to determine the state of his recovery, and depending upon the results, he could be back to training with the rest of the squad.
With a bit of luck, Fabiano could soon grace of the Brazilian Campeonato which would be a treat for the competition.
