The 47-year-old has been out of work since taking the Seleção to the quarter-finals of last summer’s World Cup in South Africa, but will replace fellow countryman Paulo Autori at the helm of the Qatar Stars League side.

“Al Rayyan will be coached by Dunga” a club official is quoted as saying by FIFA.com. “His name was recommended by Autori.”

Dunga managed Brazil between 2006 and 2010, winning the Copa America and the Confederations Cup in the process.

He also picked up 91 caps for the national team during his playing days, captaining the Seleção to World Cup success in the USA in 1994.
