After the World Cup the striker had declared that there was no way he could continue playing for Sao Paulo and that he wanted to move. But late yesterday, the player and the club signed a new contract.

“The situation is 100% solved now. Both parties are happy. With a new contract, new life,” said the player.

While the coach Adilson Batista said: “We have been negotiating for the past two months now and had to stop because of the World Cup. I’m conscious that his contract was lagged.”

But now it is all about football again. “I love Sao Paulo,” Henrique said. “I hope to return the support from the fans. I want to score and win titles.”
