In an interview to Terra, Lucas Leiva said that the clubs objective for the coming season were to win the Premier League and the Cup but mostly to bring the team back in the Champions League.

Lucas believes that Manchester United are still the big favourites. “They have the habit of winning and they know how to mix young and experienced players,” he said.

Asked about his adaptation period, Lucas said it was hard because of the difference between English and Brazilian football. “In England it’s quicker and physically more demanding,” he told Terra. “I had to develop my physical ability. It was hard and I even thought of going back to Brazil at the beginning. But my objective was to come here and stay in Europe to succeed with Liverpool so I would be remembered within the club. And I think that slowly but surely I’m succeeding.”
