Earlier this week, Fred was chased by fans while he was out drinking on his day off. The following day he asked not to play as he claimed not to be ready psychologically. His team won 2-0 against Internacional. But again yesterday Fred wasn’t at the training and later the president, Sandro Lima, explained: “I just talked to Fred. He is not travelling to Belo Horizonte. He will stay here and train, then he will play for the Selecao and come back to Flu. We understand that he is still not ready psychologically.”

The rumours of his departure are getting louder. Fred hasn’t played seven games for Fluminense yet. The Limit that would prevent him to transfer to another club therefore the fans are already thinking he is leaving. But Sandro Lima firmly said that his player was staying: “This thing about seven games is just a coincidence because of the Copa America. Fred likes the club and the fans with it.”

Fred announced he would give a press conference this morning (in the afternoon in the UK) to clarify the situation.
