Flamengo 2-0 Gremio

The hosts went in front when Thiago Neves opened the scoring after 28 minutes. Ronaldinho made sure of the win when he scored his eighth goal of the season on 74′. Flamengo are now just one point behind league leaders Corinthians, albeit having played two games more.

Palmeiras 3-2 Atletico Mineiro

Two points behind Flamengo in third are Palmeiras, who continued their impressive home form with victory over Atletico Mineiro. Marcos Assuncao gave Palmeiras the lead after quarter of an hour, but Magno Alves equalised for the visitors just one minute later. Goals from Luan (62′) and Patrick (78′) made the game safe for the home side, despite Mineiro pulling one back via Wesley (80′).

Cruzeiro 0-1 Botafogo

Botafogo’s winner came after 56 minutes and was scored by Sebastian Abreu. The away side are now up to fifth, while last year’s runners-up Cruzeiro sit disappointingly in ninth.
