On paper Menezes won seven games with the Selecao, lost three and drew three. Those are not bad stats but looking closer one can see a pattern. Menezes’ squad won against teams like Iran or Ukraine but failed to produce good games against stronger side and lost to Argentina and France.
“There are a lot of strong opponents, and the only thing that is for sure is that we are not the only ones in the world,” he said trying to tone down the critics.
To Menezes credit, he managed the transition of the World Cup trauma and satisfied most of the fans with his decisions. But if Brazil will need more consistency and especially facing strong teams i they won the win the World Cup on their soil.
