Every football fan remembers that day of 1994 when Brazil beat the Netherlands in the quarter final of the World Cup. Despite the sportive achievement a picture made history that day. Bebeto, after scoring, ran to the corner line and launched what is known as the famous “baby celebration”: he dedicated his goal to his new born son swinging an imaginary baby in his arms. Two other players joined him in the celebration: Romario and Mazinho. The picture of the three men dancing while pretending to hold babies is now a classic of sport photojournalism.

Iomar do Nascimento, known as Mazinho, won the Brasileirao with Vasco twice and with Palmeiras once. He played in Italy and Spain and has 40 caps with Brazil National Team. With the Selecao he won the Copa America and the World Cup. After a try in coaching he retired, leaving the headlines to his son Thiago Alcantara, 20-year-old.

Alcantara played in Flamengo youth team before signing with Barcelona in 2005. He played 59 games for Barcelona reserve scoring three goals.  Last season he made 12 apparitions in Pep Guardiola squad and scored twice. Having the Spanish nationality, Alcantara played the 2011 UEFA European U21 Football Championship and scored the second goal in the final sealing Spain victory.

It appears that Guardiola wanted to make Alcantara one of his key players for the coming season. But now Barcelona will have to choose between keeping their young star or swap him for Fabregas.

Since the opening of the transfer window the Catalans main objective is to bring back home Fabregas. But Arsene Wenger is reluctant to let his captain go and said they wouldn’t consider any offer under £40million. But this week the Gunners made their first move to facilitate the negotiations. It is said that they would consider a lower offer if Barcelona is ready to include Alcantara in the deal.
