Melo is surplus to requirements in Turin, and recently confirmed that he would be leaving the club this summer. Now it seems as if a possible destination could be Turkey, with Galatasaray confirming their interest via a statement to the stock market.
The statement to the Turkish stock exchange read: “The club have begun negotiations with Juventus for the loan of Felipe Melo de Carvalho.”
Melo’s fellow countryman Claudio Taffarel, who is Galatasaray’s goalkeeping coach, claims to have already spoken with the midfielder. “I talked on the phone with Melo,” he told Anatolian News Agency.
“He is strong both physically and technically,” continued Taffarel. “He will make a major contribution to the team.”
