It was reported yesterday that Campeonato Brasileiro leaders Corinthians had put together an ambitious offer for Tevez in an attempt to resign the player that left them for West Ham United in 2006.
But after seeing their bid rejected, it seems they will not pursue Tevez, with their president Andres Sanchez previously having stated that Corinthians would not raise their initial offer.
“We have made an offer which we feel Manchester City cannot refuse,” said Sanchez. “We will not raise it further. If they ask us for €56 million (City’s reported asking price), they will keep him.”
Tevez is currently with the Argentina squad competing in the Copa America. It is believed he wants to leave Manchester City for personal reasons, and wants to be closer to his family in Argentina.
