Danilo has long been linked with a switch to Benfica, but now Caliendo, who represents Internazionale’s Maicon among others, says the 19-year-old will instead join Juve.

“The next big signing in Serie A will be made by Juventus, who will sign Danilo, a young player from Santos,” Caliendo told SportItalia.

The player himself fuelled the speculation further by recently announcing he was hoping for a higher wage, either with Santos or a new club.

“I am happy with the fact that Santos’ president is valuing my work, but I have to consider my personal interests and my financial independence,” said Danilo.

“There is still a lot to be solved. It is hard to say if I want to stay or go. There is a possibility that I will leave, but we still have to talk.”

Danilo has been attracting interest from big clubs in Europe after helping Santos to win the 2011 Copa Libertadores, where he scored in the final.
