Both the player and the club had received criticism for Flamengo"s poor start to the season. But after the 4-1 win over Mineiro, the club are now in seventh place with ten points, and are yet to lose a game.

“When I hit the ball, I knew it would be difficult for the goalkeeper to save," Ronaldinho told Flamengo"s official website. “Playing good football really helps at a time like this.

“Now our goal is to continue at this level over the next two matches [against America and Sao Paulo]. We know it will be difficult, but we really want these wins. The idea is to consistently be near the top of the table and we are working hard to do that," he added.
