The 18-year-old scored his third goal in this season’s Brasileirão to help Sao Paulo win 2-0 away at Ceara, a victory which maintains their 100% winning start after five games.

“I leave the team in the lead with another win against a great team who are very strong at home,” said Lucas after the game. “We had a great performance and we deserved the win.

“Our team should be congratulated,” he continued. “It is a team that is close and together, and this spirit will continue to help us in the league.”

Lucas will now join up with the national team on Monday for training ahead of the Copa America, with Brazil’s first game on July 3.

Sao Paulo lead the way in the 2011 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, with the maximum 15 points from the first five games, four ahead of second placed Palmeiras.
