Willian scored both goals, heading the home side into the lead on six minutes and grabbing his second from the penalty spot on the half-hour.

Behind Corinthians in third are Palmeiras, who drew 2-2 away to Internacional. An own-goal from Marcio Araujo put Inter ahead on 50 minutes, but five minutes later Palmeiras equalised through Kleber. The visitors went in front thanks to Luan, but Spurs target Leandro Damiao scored a late goal to earn Inter a point.

Bahia and Atletico Mineiro played out a 1-1 draw. Souza made it 1-0 to Bahia from the penalty spot at the beginning of the second half, but Atletico gained a point with a goal from Neto Berola, who was later sent off.
