Never short of an opinion, the politition has been offering his views on many issues today, including Brazil’s preparations for the World Cup.

However, he has also caused a commotion by suggesting that maybe Under-20 boss Ney Franco should lead Brazil to the Olympics instead of Mano Menezes.

“I believe that the work of Ney Franco is very positive and if he continued in the Olympics, Brazil would have a better opportunity to win gold,” said the former Barcelona man.

“The preparation of this Olympic team is going well. The team that will go to London will be a very strong team.

“Why should a coach prepare the team and then give it to another trainer.

“As the head coach is different, the way of playing the changes, but this is up to the CBF.”

Romario is never one to keep his opinions to himself and there will be few at the CBF grateful to hear either of his outburts today.
