Santos 4-5 Flamengo

In what must undoubtedly go down as the game of the season so far, Flamengo came from three goals down to win with the odd goal in nine against Santos. The home side looked to be cruising, racing into a three goal lead with two goals from Borges (5′ and 16′) and a stunning solo effort from Neymar (26′).

Ronaldinho (28′) and Thiago Neves (32′) quickly got Flamengo back into the game, before Elano’s clever attempt from the penalty spot backfired completely and was comfortably saved. Deivid then incredibly headed Flamengo level a minute before the break.

In the second half, Neymar (51′) put Santos back in front, only for Ronaldinho to produce two moments of magic from his Barcelona days (68′ and 81′) to complete his hat-trick and give Flamengo an amazing win.

Coritiba 3-4 Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo are now just three points behind league leaders Corinthians after they held on in another thrilling game, which saw seven goals and two red cards.

It seemed all too easy for the away side, as they went in at the break three goals ahead thanks to Carlinhos Paraiba (18′), Juan (23′) and Dagoberto (31′). As if that wasn’t enough, they also had a one man advantage due to Davi’s dismissal for Coritiba on 41 minutes.

Lucas increased Sao Paulo’s lead to four ten minutes after the break, before the hosts decided to make a game of it. Rafinha pulled one back on 68 minutes, and seven minutes later Bill made it 2-4. With three minutes to go, Bill scored again, and although Denilson was sent off for the visitors in injury time, they were able to hold on.
