It had seemed that a move to Europe was inevitable for the 19-year-old wonderkid, with either Chelsea or Real Madrid looking the most likely destinations depending on who you believed, but now he has revealed he has no intentions of making such a move for the time being.

“I have a contract with Santos and I intend to continue," he told MundoDeportivo. “I am very happy because I"m getting goals. I do not know if Santos will go out to the world [to offer him to other clubs], but now we must stay focused on the games ahead."

It comes a day after Neymar spoke of his belief that he could win the World Player of the Year award at his current club, and seems to add weight to the idea that he will not be making a big money move this summer, despite the constant speculation.

His next big challenge comes on Wednesday when Santos face Penarol in the first leg of the final of the 2011 Copa Libertadores in Uruguay.
