England faces a struggling Brazil in an upcoming friendly, with the latter having lost their last three 2026 World Cup qualifiers, including a 1-0 defeat to Argentina.

Brazil will be without key players such as Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Marquinhos, Casemiro, Gabriel Martinelli, Alisson Becker, and Ederson. This presents a challenge for Brazil’s new manager, Dorival Junior, in his debut match.

In contrast, England remains unbeaten since their 2022 World Cup quarterfinal loss to France, winning six out of eight Euro 2024 qualifiers. They appear ready to challenge for the European Championships.

Rivaldo’s Words

Speaking to Betfair, Rivado highlighted the strength of the English team. “The England team is strong, filled with great players across the board. Brazil is in for a tough game at Wembley; it’s a fantastic opportunity to test themselves. England stand a great chance of lifting the European Championships in Germany this summer.”

He also compared England’s quest for a major trophy to Argentina’s journey before their World Cup win. “Like Argentina before their recent World Cup victory, England has had many great players and yet, the team has not clinched a major trophy since 1966. But under Gareth Southgate, there’s a renewed sense of hope.”

As the match approaches, England looks to use the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium to prepare for the Euros, with an eye on ending a nearly six-decade major trophy drought.
