At this grand event, Luiz announced with a gleam in his eye that he would don the number 99 jersey, a choice inspired by the legendary Ronaldinho’s stint at Milan. “It’s because of Ronaldinho when he was at Milan, right?! It messed everyone up,” he shared with a chuckle during an engaging chat on Botafogo TV.

This particular number has historical significance as it was once worn by the illustrious Ronaldo Fenômeno during his tenure at Milan between 2007 and 2008.

Fully registered and in peak condition, Luiz is poised to make his anticipated debut in a fierce clash against Flamengo. The match is scheduled for 9:30 pm at the iconic Maracanã. His readiness is bolstered by his recent competitive play and rigorous training sessions with Real Betis, ensuring he is in top physical and mental shape for the game.

This match isn’t just another game for Luiz; it holds sentimental value as it falls on the same day as his daughter Anallu’s birthday. He expressed his heightened excitement and determination to make a memorable debut. “If I play, it will be a good debut, my daughter’s first birthday. I will help Botafogo to win… I will do everything to help. Debuting against Flamengo will be great,” he said, envisioning a victory as the perfect birthday gift for his daughter.

Currently, Botafogo is in a strong position, holding the title of runner-up in the Campeonato Carioca, amassing 11 points and only trailing behind the frontrunner, Fluminense.
