Jamal Musiala: “I grew up watching Ronaldinho, Neymar or Messi”

Within the framework of the UCL semifinals between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, the aforementioned Madrid newspaper interviewed Jamal Musiala, former teammate and friend of the English star of the merengue team, Jude Bellingham. In addition to mentioning various details about this key clash, his favorites for the EURO and other topics, he also talked about his idols.

When asked about the reasons that led him to take on the number 10 in Germany and about the ‘culprits’ of the German’s fascination with the number 10, Musiala spoke about the influence of three South American stars:

“Since I was young, I looked at all the big names that wore that number and it was always my favorite. I grew up watching Ronaldinho, Neymar or Messi. Everyone wore ten and for me it was always a dream to wear that number one day.” The German confessed.

Now, regarding his favorite childhood player, ‘Musi’, as he is known in Germany, he once again mentioned these stars:

“Without a doubt, Messi and Ronaldinho. I have seen dozens and dozens of videos of them. I also had a Zidane shirt when he was very little, with the number 10 of the French team. I have always admired him (Messi) a lot and he always fascinated me. I grew up watching Leo and Neymar. “They were my favorite players because they entertained me a lot and brought a lot of joy to the game.”

“I always stopped to see them: Leo scoring goals or Neymar doing those tricks with the ball. Then I would go to the garden and try to imitate them. “I was always a fan of them.” Said the German, who already honored Neymar at the beginning of the season with a goal celebration.
