Flamengo is caught in a tug-of-war between betting companies Pixbet and Betano over a sponsorship deal that could reach R$100 million annually. The clubs are discussing extending Pixbet’s current sponsorship through 2025, an increase from the R$85 million they pay now.
“Flamengo is evaluating all aspects of our current and potential partnerships,” said a club spokesperson.

After parting ways with Fluminense, Betano is actively pursuing a deal with Flamengo, further motivated by their new rights over the Brasileirão Series A naming.
Other Brazilian clubs
The sponsorship landscape is rapidly changing. Corinthians set a new benchmark with a R$120 million deal with VaideBet. This shift prompted Fluminense to drop Betano and sign with Superbet for up to R$55 million.

Vasco is also adapting, ending its current sponsorship and preparing to announce a new betting partner. “We’re moving forward to announce a new betting partner that aligns with our club’s vision and market dynamics,” a Vasco executive stated.
The changes reflect the high stakes and competitiveness within sports sponsorships, especially in the betting sector. Currently, only Gigante da Colina and Cuiabá in Serie A are without betting partnerships.
Remembering Zagallo
Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
The first three episodes are available on Sambafoot’s Youtube channel. Stay tuned for the upcoming releases as we keep telling this legend’s life story.
