The Dorival Junior era began in the best way at Wembley this Saturday evening. After a complicated and close match in which it seemed that no one would win, the pearl of Palmeiras and future Real Madrid player, Endrick Felipe, stole the show after scoring a historic and important goal.

This match had a very emotional start due to the minute of silence for the physical loss of Terry Venables, an English football legend who passed away in November 2023. In the stands, several members of the England Euro 96′ squad said an emotional farewell to the former coach.

Endrick scored the winning goal against England

During the first half, both Brazil and England had clear opportunities to open the scoring, but in the first 45′ there were no goals at Wembley.

That changed in the second half, since, in the last beats of the exciting match between these two titans of international football, the winning goal would come from the bench.

Despite not having started as a starter, Endrick would be the main protagonist of the evening after coming on in the 71st minute, replacing Rodrygo. A few minutes later, the Palmeiras pearl would make history.

Around the 80th minute, Vinicius Jr. escaped from the English marker after an excellent pass that broke lines and the Real Madrid footballer finished with the marker on top. The English goalkeeper, Pickford, left a rebound that Endrick did not waste, scoring his first goal with the Brazilian senior team.

Thanks to this goal, Endrick became the youngest footballer to score at Wembley, either for a national team or a club. Additionally, he became the youngest player to score for Brazil since Ronaldo did so in 1994.

Towards the end of the match, Brazil went on the attack in a three-on-one that culminated with a filtered pass to Endrick, who had the chance to end the match with a 0-2 score in the last minute, but Pickford guessed his intentions. and stopped the shot.

Despite this, the result did not move any further and Brazil began the Dorival era with an important victory thanks to a footballer who, at 17 years old, is already shining with the Senior National Team and aims to do the same for Real Madrid in just a few months.
