This update, part of the 2024 General Competition Regulations, was prompted by an incident where Sport fans attacked Fortaleza players, injuring six, after a match at Arena Pernambuco.

The new rules, under Article 79, require clubs to prevent their fans from committing violent acts against opposing teams or referees during travel to matches. Violations can lead to severe penalties, including point deductions or disqualification.

“The safety of players and officials is paramount, and we will enforce stringent measures to maintain it,” said a CBF spokesperson. These measures are effective immediately, with the Brazilian Championship starting today.
