Napoli midfielder Allan admits that his side were below par in their 2-0 Europa League quarter-final first leg against Arsenal.

The Gunners take a 2-0 lead to San Paolo next week thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey and Lucas Torreira. But Allan insists the tie is not over yet.

“We are even more angry than our fans for this performance. Our supporters are right to be bitter and have the right to say whatever they want, because we are the first to be disappointed,” he told the Napoli website.

“We were expecting another first half and very different approach. We have not been able to put in place the game plan we had prepared with the coach and we take responsibility.

"However, from today we put it out of our heads. Let's turn the page, let's correct the mistakes we made tonight and concentrate on the San Paolo match.

“In the second half we did a lot better and from that attitude we have to start again to prepare for the return game. Nothing is finished, we still believe and with the help of the San Paolo we can overturn it. Anything can happen.”
