Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has opened up on the influence of Reds manager Jurgen Klopp on the training ground. Fabinho says that Klopp’s personable touch sets him apart as a coach.
Fabinho joined the club from Monaco last summer and has played a key part in the Reds’ form as they challenge Manchester City for the league title.
“Klopp decreased the training load, he understood that the games were very hard. He has made enough change in the team, he knows how to manage fatigue in the squad.
“Usually he does not give a lot of individual scolding. He and the whole coaching staff have helped me a lot. Although my English is not so good, we try to have communication there. He is a trainer who conveys a lot of emotion at the edge of the pitch.”
Liverpool are in contention for the Premier League and have a Champions League quarter-final against Porto on the horizon, but Fabinho says Liverpool won’t prioritise one competition.
“The fans prefer to win the Champions League from what I see here. We players do not talk about prioritising some competition. We have a good squad, without having to prioritise competitions.
“Now the injured players are coming back, giving other options for the coach. But you cannot deny that you're getting a little tired at this stage.”
