Brazil captain Neymar says that the criticism he received for his performances in last summer’s World Cup were over the top.
Neymar recovered from a broken foot just before the tournament and his impact was limited. He was also criticised for over reacting to fouls.
The PSG forward says that exaggerated criticism is par the course when it comes to Brazil and the World Cup and that he was not alone in bearing the brunt of criticism.
“I think it was exaggerated for me. Only I knew and it was like that throughout my career, right? I know that when Brazil loses, most of the weight comes totally to my back.
“I think the exaggeration was very great not only with me, with Fernandinho too. He's another guy who was recriminated in a way that I cannot understand, you know?”
