Brazil’s number 9 Gabriel Jesus has caught the attention of world football with his goalscoring exploits. But the 20-year old still insists that his more unselfish traits will come to the fore when Brazil take on Ecuador and Colombia this week.

Jesus has settled into life as Brazil’s number 9 and in the Premier League, but he will continue with his unselfish off ball duties, “There is no easy opponent. When facing the Seleção, all teams give 100% and are very motivated.

“I will sacrifice for Neymar, for Coutinho, for Willian, for the whole team. I work a lot without the ball to make it easier for them. Neymar and Coutinho are both worth the transfer fees quoted, they’ve proved themselves over many years.”

On attacking colleague Neymar, Jesus says he hopes the player realises his Ballon D’Or dream soon, “I root for Neymar to win the Ballon D’Or at PSG. It is only a matter of time before he wins.”
