Philippe Coutinho wins the Samba Gold 2016

Reuters
Neymar's two year reign is over, the Samba d'Or found a new champion for 2016 with Liverpool's attacking midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, who wins it for the first time in his career.

With 32.13% of the votes, the "magician" beats the double winner Neymar, who despite an Olympic title with Brazil did not manage to retain his title despite polling 27.88% of the vote. Real Madrid defensive midfielder Casemiro completes the top 3 with 13.35% of the vote. With a Champions League and World Club Cup title won this year, he could continue to fight for the title in the next few years.
