President Modesto Roma Júnior has announced that Santos have an agreement with Brazilian defender Cleber, who was playing for Hamburg in Germany.
Despite finishing the Brasileirão as runners-up, Santos did not have any representative in the best XI of the competition. The only winner from Santos was attacking midfielder Vitor Bueno, who was named as the revelation of the year. Modesto also said that Santos" desire is to have six new arrivals for 2017. Modesto told UOL Esporte: “Cleber is already signed, just like Matheus Ribeiro and Vladimir Hernández. Santos wants six new signings for next season: two defenders, a wing-back, a wide-forward and a centre forward. We already have a wing-back [Matheus Ribeiro], an attacker (Vladimir Hernández] and a defender [Cleber]. Today the club is in a better financial shape than it was in the past."
