Inter Milan coach Frank de Boer left Brazilian striker Gabigol on the bench again for 90 minutes.
The routine of Gabriel Barbosa, aka Gabigol, has been the same since he came to Inter Milan. Out of the six games in which he was picked in the Italian Championship, Gabigol entered the pitch only once, in the 1-1 draw with Bologna at the end of September. He was on the field for just 16 minutes back then, and on Wednesday, in the 2-1 victory over Torino, the 20-year-old was again on the bench as an unused sub. Dutch coach Frank de Boer has called for patience with the Brazilian. The coach said in an interview after his team’s victory: “The opportunity to Gabigol would come. Everything happens in its own time. We are going through a difficult period, but his time will come.”
Frank de Boer was saved by another South American striker in the game against Torino. Mauro Icardi seems to have made peace with the fans of Inter, and the captain scored both goals in Inter’s victory over Torino at the San Siro. The result ended a sequence of four games without a win in Serie A for Inter.
