Cruzeiro striker Joel and midfielder Souza can leave the club and start the next year in Asia, more specifically, China and Japan.
In November, Superesportes MG had reported that the intention of the club’s board was to sell Joel in the event of good proposals. According to the representative of the Cameroonian striker, Juan Figer, a Chinese side has shown interest and has begun talks with the player. Joel came to Cruzeiro earlier this year, and was bought by the then director of football, Alexandre Mattos. Juan Figer said: “We have a contact. There is the interest of a Chinese team in Joel. There is nothing concrete, something that we can speak to the media. In time, everyone will know.”
Midfielder Souza, who still belongs to Cruzeiro and was on loan at Bahia this season, can be transferred to Japanese football. Cerezo Osaka have made a proposal this week, and the board is considering the business. Football supervisor Benecy Queiroz confirmed the information.  He said: “We got a proposal from Japan for Souza and we are analyzing it. Still nothing sure, but there is a possibility of him being loaned to the Japanese club. The proposal is for loan, not to buy him.”
