Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos threw away their chance to claim top spot after squandering a 1-0 lead to draw against NorthEast United on Tuesday.
Delhi Dynamos were second best throughout the game and marquee player and manager Roberto Carlos, who started his first game of the tournament, expressed his satisfaction with the result. Delhi took the lead in first half through Ghanaian forward Richard Gadze, but Simão equalized for the away side, finding the net from a brilliantly taken free-kick in the 72nd minute. Delhi remain behind league leaders Pune City [superior goal difference] despite having the same number of points.
Carlos said: “Draw was a good result. I am satisfied with a draw. NorthEast United played well. We are currently [joint] top of the league and that"s all that matters. When we are not first, we always look up. Whenever my team is on the field, they are always looking to win."
