Zeca had a difficult period in October as he was removed from Brazil’s Olympic team for the friendlies against Dominican Republic and Haiti because of a hip injury.
In less than a month, the left-back has recovered and has been called up again for the Olympic team’s two friendly games against the United States this month. Zeca has been a regular at Santos under Dorival Júnior, and looks forward to the opportunity. He said: “I am pretty anxious. I was removed before, but now the opportunity came. I got hurt the first time, I was very sad for what had happened, but thank God I’ve been picked again. Now, I will have the opportunity to represent Brazil.”
Brazil’s Olympic national team will face the United States on November 11 and 15, in Recife and Belém, respectively.
