Lucas Leiva’s position at Liverpool could be under threat as manager Brendan Rodgers has been given permission by the club’s owners to splash the cash this summer, according to the Daily Mirror, with a top-class midfielder high on his shopping list.
Rodgers is believed to be keen on Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho and is monitoring England international James Milner whilst five or six players are expected to be leaving Anfield, possibly including Lucas, for whom the current campaign has been beset with injuries.
