The Santos forward says his goalscoring return this year earned him his place in the squad and is desperate to keep up his form.

Santos striker Robinho says he must keep up his fine goalscoring form if he is to retain his place in the Brazil squad. The on-loan Milan forward was recalled ahead of Shakhtar’s Luiz Adriano after missing out on the squad in November because only foreign-based players were eligible as the Brazilian domestic season reached its climax. Robinho told Globo Esporte: “I am very happy. I have to thank God, my family and my Santos teammates. I’m ready. Now I can’t wait to get there and represent my country. I think my good form here at Santos was key. I’m playing well and I was able to make a good pre-season. Now, I have to continue what I’m doing. The goals also earn attention. A forward always has to be scoring.”
