Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho hopeful he’ll take pre-season form into Premier League campaign
Philippe Coutinho has enjoyed an excellent pre-season campaign with Liverpool and capped it off with a stunning performance against Borussia Dortmund last weekend.
The Brazilian provided Daniel Sturridge with a great assist for the opening goal and scored the third himself.
The 22-year-old admits the one touch assist for Sturridge could be his best ever assist.
Liverpool Echo quoted the playmaker, he said: “It may just have been my best assist.
“However, it was just a friendly and I hope I can reproduce it in the league.”
Coutinho conceded that he always tries to be confident even when things don’t go to plan and now just hopes he can produce similar impressive performances in the Premier League season.
The Brazilian added: “I always try to be confident and stay confident with what I do.
“Sometimes things don’t go your way but I’m constantly trying to make them right.
“The last match (versus Borussia Dortmund) was a friendly and I hope similar things can happen throughout the league season.”
