Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz believes Chelsea will miss his presence this season.

The Brazilian international moved to France for £50 million during the summer and departs Stamford Bridge alongside Frank Lampard, who has moved to Manchester City ahead of a move to America in 2015.

When the former Blues defender spoke to The Sun, he insisted that the west London club would be weaker without him and the England midfielder.

ESPN quoted Luiz, he said: “I have to believe that Chelsea or any team will miss me. I’m not arrogant but I’m confident in my own abilities.

“I can only speak about my experience of playing with Frank and I still think he has lots to offer at the highest level.

“Not just because he is a great player but also because of his experience in big games.”

The Brazilian went on to reveal his delight at the belief his new club have installed in him and he is sure PSG can win trophies this season.

Luiz added: “I have as much chance of winning major trophies here as at Chelsea or any other club in Europe.

“Paris paid a lot for me so they obviously believe in me. It is nice to be at a club where they really want you and where they show belief in you.”
